At Deceptive Hockey, the difference our coaching makes is reflected directly in the results we produce. We transform driven hockey players into elite professional athletes. Founded by hockey expert Jack Winger, Deceptive Hockey has helped many players improve their game through detailed video analysis coaching.

Under Jack’s guidance, players have progressed from development programs to the NHL, NCAA Division I hockey, and international competition. That includes over $41M+ in NHL contracts, and multiple NHL Draft selections, with athletes competing at elite global events such as the Spengler Cup and World Junior Championships.

Our Philosophy

Our training focuses on three core pillars.

Video Analysis

We use video as a foundation for our training. We’ll start training by reviewing 15 to 20 game samples. This helps us determine what realistic plays can be made so we can set the highest achievable goals. An honest discussion-based video session can create a significant amount of growth in point production.

Skill Development

With knowledge comes power. What players learn in video is transferred directly to the ice through clear, short-term objectives they can focus on during practices and skill sessions. By setting simple, specific goals for each rep, players can apply those adjustments in real game situations, creating consistent progression over time. Simple short-term goals help manufacture long-term accomplishments throughout the span of a hockey season.

Mentality & Confidence

Moments of doubt or discomfort are inevitable, but learning how to handle the pressure and talking confidently about what it can do to change your game is key. Being relentless in the pursuit of your goals is also important. The focus and determination that is discussed with each player can help them become an elite athlete with a warrior mentality.
